She's a beauty

We met Princess face-to-face for the first time today. When I woke up this morning, I thanked the Lord that He has given us a baby who is healthy. Excitement and anticipation accompanied us as we went to meet Princess.

When I first beheld Princess, I was mesmerized by the beautiful baby that I saw in front of my very eyes. I was overwhelmed that the Lord has blessed us with such a gift.

Princess was very well behaved during the 2 hours (or thereabouts) that we spent with her. She smiled easily and did not make any fuss other than happy gurgles. What did I ever do to deserve such a precious blessing? Frankly speaking, nothing that I ever did would have qualified me to receive Princess. She is truly a gift from the Lord and we are so grateful that He showed us favour and chose us to be the forever daddy and forever mommy of Princess. I treasure this honour that the Lord has bestowed upon us.

I requested that we hold Princess. Da was shown how to hold a baby in his arms. How natural he looked holding Princess. She was comfortable in his arms and happily curled two of her fingers around one of Da's rings that he held out to her.

My turn was next. As I held her in my arms, a feeling of protectiveness washed over me. Father, thank You for entrusting Princess to us.

The little one was alert and her eyes kept following Da's movement. She seemed to have taken a fancy to Da, which was wonderful!

When the time came to say a temporary "goodbye", I was very reluctant to leave. I wanted to take Princess home there and then!

With great reluctance, we left but were comforted by the fact that she will be coming home this sunday. We are a forever family and we will remain so.

In the afternoon, we went to Parkway Parade.

We bought a Winnie-The-Pooh Baby on Board car signage that I have wanted to buy for years but did not have the opportunity. This was truly a wonderful day!

We decided to buy a simple rocker for Princess as she seemed to like it. All you can see are the frames of the rocker in the photograph below because we removed the fabric and washed it.

We removed the child sofa bed from the plastic packaging and placed it on the floor in the spare bedroom. We intend to convert this bedroom into Princess' own room in the future. For the moment, we intend to place her baby cot in the master bedroom. However, Princess' belongings (such as her clothing, toiletries, etc) will be in the spare bedroom.

As we had bought a foldable mattress for my mother to rest while she is babysitting Princess at our home, we placed a 14" television, a table fan and a CD player in the spare bedroom together with a cradle classical CD that we bought from Mothercare today.

As Princess is currently drinking Nan-1, we decided to buy the same type of milk powder for her.

We will be buying the milk bottles tomorrow. In the meantime, we bought a Pigeon bottle brush today.

Baby bottles and teats require a special liquid cleanser that is gentler than regular dishwashing liquid. As such, we bought a bottle of Pigeon liquid cleanser,

We will be doing major shopping at Kiddy Palace Marina Square tomorrow. I look forward to it.
